A few common questions.
Short answers to help you keep going.
Where do I start?
Start with one thing that interests you, such as a recipe, photograph, name, or story.
What if I don’t speak my heritage language?
Start small. Language is one path to connection, not the only one.
What if my family won’t talk about our heritage?
Respect their choice and begin with what you already have.
What if I discover something difficult about my heritage?
Take time to understand what you found and what it means to you. Reconnection does not require reverence, and you do not have to preserve or pass on everything you inherit.
What if people question my connection to my heritage?
Your relationship with your heritage is yours. You do not need someone else’s permission to explore what is already part of your story.
