Heritage & Identity Conversations (Free Session)
A space for reflection, reconnection, and belonging.
Happening Monthly

I created this space because I grew up disconnected from my Dominican and Jamaican roots—with no one to talk to about the guilt, the questions, or the silence.
When I wrote my book, people began opening up. They shared their own stories—of cultural imposter syndrome, of family pain, of longing.
They asked, ‘When are we doing this again?’
That moment told me what I needed to do. And now I’m inviting you in.
Why this space exists
I was raised disconnected from my Dominican and Jamaican heritage. There was no space to process the guilt, the questions, or the longing.
And I’ve heard it from others too—again and again: “I need somewhere to talk about this.”
At my first book reading, people opened up—sharing stories of disconnection, cultural imposter syndrome, and family pain.

It was honest. It was healing. And they asked: “When are we doing this again?”

That moment made it clear:
We don’t just need direction.
We need space to feel seen—not judged.
To speak what’s on our hearts.
To not feel alone.

These conversations are a place to begin—not perfectly, but honestly.
is this space for you
If you’ve ever felt like…
-
You’re a stranger to your own culture
-
You “don’t look like” or “sound like” your identity
-
You’ve been asked “What are you?” too many times
-
You feel proud of your culture—but don’t know how to explain it
-
A DNA test or family story left you with more questions than answers
-
You were left out of cultural conversations in your own family
-
You want to pass something meaningful to your kids—but aren’t sure what
-
You have no one to process this with—at least, not without judgment
-
You’ve been living across cultures, in-between places, or outside of the diaspora
Then this space is for you.
what to expect
Each session invites you to come as you are—no pressure, no prep, no perfection.

Each session flows through three parts:

What’s Hard – We name the real struggles—disconnection, doubt, grief, imposter syndrome.
Finding Joy – We hold space for the beauty—moments of pride, celebration, and belonging.
Moving Forward – We imagine what healing and legacy look like in action, not theory.

You don’t need to prepare. You just need to come as you are.
Listen. Reflect. Or speak your truth. No pressure. Just presence.
What it is & How to join
